There is an array of pet-friendly accommodations, parks, and shops! We’ve done the research and created a list of the top five neighbourhoods for dog owners to live in the Greater Vancouver area.

1. Kitsilano

Kitsilano, located in Vancouver, is widely known as an excellent place for dog owners to live. The area is home to several green spaces that welcome dogs, including Hadden Beach, Kitsilano Beach Park, and Valdez Park. Dog owners will also find many shops dedicated to their canine companions including:

2. Port Moody

Bordered by Coquitlam on the east and south and by Burnaby on the west, Port Moody is part of the Greater Vancouver area. It is widely renowned by dog owners as excellent place to live, largely because of the amount of green spaces. The community has several dog park options, including Port Moody off-leash dog park, Westhill off-leash park, Miller off-leash park, and Mundy off-leash dog park. The area is also home to many pet amenities such as:

Yaletown, a neighbourhood within Vancouver, is well known for being home to the Seawall. But it’s also a great place for dog owners to live! George Wainborn Park is close by and boasts 2.5-hectares of green space along False Creek. It’s the perfect place to take your dog for a relaxing walk. Pet amenities include:

Located on one of Vancouver’s primary heritage boulevards, Cambie Village extends from West 6th Avenue to King Edward Avenue. Nearby dog owners will find many green spaces to let their doggos run including, Queen Elizabeth dog park, Olympic Village off-leash dog park, and Oak Meadows park. Cambie Village has it’s own veterinary hospital, and close by you’ll be able to explore some small pet businesses like:

Surrounded by numerous green parks, there will never be a shortage of places to explore with your fur friend. Parks nearby include Fraser View Dog Park, Guilford Heights Park, Tynehead Dog Park, Hawthorn Dog Off-Leash Area, and Forsyth Dog Off-Leash Area. There are also plenty of pet shops and amenities.
