CBC Marketplace investigates Realtors… again

Realtors caught in the act taking advantage of home buyers

CBC’s Marketplace has found “Three of the six real estate agents caught offering to facilitate mortgage fraud work for HomeLife Miracle Realty Ltd., which has five brokerages across the Greater Toronto Area and one in Cambridge, Ont. Marketplace has also spoken with several buyers who say agents working for the same brokerage pushed them toward fraudulent mortgage applications or submitted one without their knowledge.”

Of course, home buyers are supposed to be able to trust their agent to follow the law. Even though the agent would be charged in the case of wrong doing, the home buyers would have devastating consequences as well.

There are too many examples of agents doing what is not in the best interest of their clients.

It is time for dramatic change in Canada’s real estate industry.
